Energy consumption per 100 cycles (kWh)

What this term means when it appears on an appliance specification or energy label.

In short

The weighted energy consumption of 100 eco 40-60 cycles, in kilowatt-hours, as declared on the energy label. Dividing by 100 gives a typical figure per wash.

The figure is a weighted average of full, half and quarter loads on the eco 40-60 programme, so it reflects mixed real use rather than only full loads. It is the number the energy class is derived from. Multiply by your electricity tariff and by how many washes you do a year, divided by 100, for an annual running cost on that programme.
