Noise emission class

What this term means when it appears on an appliance specification or energy label.

In short

The noise emission class, A (quietest) to D, groups the declared spin noise level into bands on the energy label.

Class A covers machines below 73 dB, B 73 to 76 dB, C 77 to 80 dB and D 81 dB and above, under the 2019 labelling regulation. The class is a convenience; the dB figure is the precise measure.
